![]() Candito himself is awesome, I recommend checking out some of his stuff on YouTube, he's a world class powerlifter. ![]() So with that, I had to start from nothing (my first press movement was done with a cane ಠ_ಠ ) and once I was cleared to start working with a real barbell again, I used his beginner program which is called his four week program but it's really a linear program like SL, with slightly more flexibility (which still has very clear criteria) on weight increases. Then I got injured, had a really bad SLAP tear that required surgery and an extremely long recovery timetable. It was the first time I had ever done a program that wasn't linear like SL or a typical bro split, and I had awesome results. So I don't think it was necessarily an 'energy' thing this morning. ![]() All of my other lifts have progressed nicely over my first 6 weeks of 5x5 and this morning I felt really good on squats. I started then doing StrongLifts like three years ago as I always seemed to enjoy the big three lifts and so I ended up learning about powerlifting and just really like the focus the sport/training it has on the big three lifts.Īnyway, I jumped into the six week program of his which is a true cycle. Last two I was really close but this morning on set 1 I had zero juice and just went and did some ancillary work on the shoulders. Your background sounds a lot like mine, I lifted all through middle, high, and college but to me it was all really just fuckarounditis as I never really knew what or why I was doing, I was always told what routine to be doing or was just doing what my friends were doing, prioritized weight over form, etc. ![]()
